We live during a time and in a society where people have lost sight of the fine differences between being good and feeling good. Our youth pursue pleasure believing it to be the same as happiness and most people believe the answer to all life’s troubles lies in acquiring more stuff.

An iconic figure in the world of sports, Coach John Wooden with profound simplicity redefines success in this video and urges us all to pursue the best in ourselves. In this inspiring talk he shares the advice he gave his players at UCLA, video courtesy of TED: Ideas Worth Spreading.

Each of us must make our choice. Winning isn’t everything.Success brought about by strength of Character comes pretty close though.

Coach Wooden’s long experience with led him to develop the 12 Lessons of Leadership, also called the Pyramid of Success.
